Remembrance of things eaten: Mandarin
Puncturing the orange exocarp through the middle with my thumb.
Peeling it back to reveal the soft squishy fingers.
Picking off the seedless blobs.
Piercing their membrane.
The fluids bursting out.
The tongue suffused by juices.
A flush of rain in an arid place.
A sprinkler sputtering on a summer's day.
Delicious.
Nutritious.
But often forgotten.
