General Secretary

As the general secretary, you would directly assist the Editor in Chief in all administrative duties at Pulse. Your primary responsibilities would include:

  • Monitoring and responding to emails.

  • Taking minutes at Team Lead meetings.

  • Organising and sending communications to our external and internal partners, including DUSA.

  • Assisting the Editor in Chief with on-boarding new team leads.

  • Assisting team leads with on-boarding new members of their teams.

  • Overseeing the Central Register.

Audiovisual Media Lead

As the audiovisual media lead, you would be primarily responsible for:

  • Coordinating and assembling the new audiovisual media team.

  • Organising meetings of the audiovisual media team.

  • Ensuring team members adhere to deadlines.

  • Setting deadlines for team members and individual works.

  • Adding pieces and their relevant information to the Central Register.

  • Performing initial reviews of audiovisual work submitted to Pulse on a one-time basis.

  • Assigning works requested by the Editor in Chief to team members.

  • Reviewing pieces and providing feedback on content.

  • Following up on team members who have not contributed in a while.

  • Coordinate with the Managing Editor and Editor in Chief to ensure editorial continuity and standards.

  • Coordinate with other team leads who require audiovisual media support.

News Media Lead

As the news media lead, you would be primarily responsible for:

  • Coordinating and assembling the new news media team.

  • Organising meetings of the news media team.

  • Ensuring team members adhere to deadlines.

  • Setting deadlines for team members and individual works.

  • Adding pieces and their relevant information to the Central Register.

  • Performing initial reviews of journalistic work submitted to Pulse on a one-time basis.

  • Assigning works requested by the Editor in Chief to team members.

  • Reviewing pieces and providing feedback on content.

  • Following up on team members who have not contributed in a while.

  • Coordinate with the Managing Editor and Editor in Chief to ensure editorial continuity and standards.

  • Coordinate with the Audiovisual Media Lead on any audiovisual journalistic work.

  • Coordinate with the Broadcast Media Lead on any broadcast journalistic work.

Broadcast Media Lead

As the broadcast media lead, you would be primarily responsible for:

  • Organising meetings of the broadcast media team.

  • Ensuring team members adhere to deadlines.

  • Adding pieces and their relevant information to the Central Register.

  • Performing initial reviews of broadcast work submitted to Pulse on a one-time basis.

  • Assigning works requested by the Editor in Chief to team members.

  • Coordinate with the News Media Lead on any broadcast journalistic work.

Literary Lead

As the literary lead, you would be primarily responsible for:

  • Coordinating the literary team.

  • Organising meetings of the literary team.

  • Ensuring team members adhere to deadlines.

  • Adding pieces and their relevant information to the Central Register.

  • Performing initial reviews of literary work submitted to Pulse on a one-time basis.

  • Assigning works requested by the Editor in Chief to team members.

  • Reviewing pieces and providing feedback on content.

  • Following up on team members who have not contributed in a while.

  • Coordinate with the Managing Editor and Editor in Chief to ensure editorial continuity and standards.

  • Coordinate with the Design Lead on integrating literary works into Pulse Student Magazine and the Pulse website.
